Daughters Rifle Update - Ready for Practice

We finished my daughter's rifle this weekend.  Here are the stats for those not familiar with the little project:

Caliber:   .22-250
Action:     Mauser 98 set-up as single shot
Barrel:     ER Shaw #3.5 Contour  24" 1:12 twist
Stock:      Boyd's Varmint Thumb hole Pattern/Color - Coyote  - action glass bed into the stock.  
LOP:         13"
Trigger:    Timney gold set at about 1.5#
Scope:      Tasco Custom Shop 8x40x56 with side focus
Mounts:   Weaver two piece 45/46 matte finish with Weaver rings.

The action came from my dad's stash of M98 actions that I gathered up after he died.  The scope and trigger were also his that I gathered out of his shop.

Daughter picked out a Boyd's Coyote Thumb hole stock, and I had her initials laser engraved into  the pistol grip.








 


Has not been fired yet.  When we get it on paper at 50 yards or so, we will begin practice shooting beyond 100 and 200 yards in preparation for prairie dogs in July.
